Elder Abuse Prevention & Reporting

As isolation and loneliness increase, so does the incidence of elder abuse.   It can take many forms – physical, emotional, financial, neglect and self-neglect.  The Department of Aging and Adult Services is urging all of its contractors and partners to make sure staff and volunteers are aware of and have access to resources and support to address this issue.

Report Elder Abuse

If you are experiencing abuse or see intentional or neglectful acts by a caregiver or trusted individual that may or do lead to harm, including negect, psychological abuse, financial exploitation, or physical/sexual abuse, please report it.  

  • If it’s an emergency, call 911
  • In San Francisco, call Adult Protective Services: 415-355-6700 or 800-814-0009 anytime (24/7) or Report Online (non-urgent).
