Art Viewing Adventures: Beyond the Museum Walls (Virtual)
Mon August 24, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Though museums may be closed, a wealth of amazing art is available for public viewing beyond their walls. A San Francisco law requires new large building projects to budget 1 percent of total costs for publicly available art. This means significant works by world-famous artists are available to be safely viewed outdoors in our own city. Join Rodney Paul, an experienced museum guide, and his fellow museum guide Anna Ewins to discuss works in San Francisco’s SOMA neighborhood. A map enabling participants to experience these works on their own will be provided.
Rodney has been leading Zoom-based art tours long before shelter-in-place, as a way to share art from a distance. In his tours, he provides information to help viewers mine the artworks for meaning based on their own experiences and perceptions.
