POSTPONED: The Art of Black Lives Matter
Mon June 22, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

NOTICE: This event has been postponed, out of respect for the continuing injustices against the Black community. Rodney hopes to revisit this topic in the future. We will still be having an Art Viewing Adventure on this date and time. We hope you’ll join us.

Many artists have been compelled to create works in the wake of George Floyd’s murder and the Black Lives Matter protests that have ensued. In fact, there’s a long, rich history in the visual arts depicting people and events connected to the Civil Rights movement.
Rodney Paul will be joined by Remi Majekodunmi and Aswan Boudreaux, both of whom are docents at the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco. The three will discuss ways of engaging with recently created artworks and invite members of the audience to share their perspectives as well. Many, but not all, of these works are by African American artists.
