In the 1960s and 1970s Jamaican musicians fused American soul and their island’s folk music and rhythms to create reggae and popularize it throughout the world. In this program, author and music historian Richie Unterberger spotlights performances by reggae icons like Bob Marley & the Wailers, Toots & the Maytals, Millie Small, Desmond Dekker, and others.
