Boomer Music Talk with Richie Unterberger: The Kinks

Mon January 8, 2024 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

  • « Qigong: Chinese Yoga with David Wei (English & Chinese 中文; Virtual)
  • Dance for Strength with Kyra (Virtual) »

Join rock historian and author Richie Unterberger spotlights the prime work of the Kinks, one of the greatest British rock bands. Starting as a raw British Invasion band in the mid-1960s, they developed a knack for sharp-witted, satirical social commentary, paced by singer-songwriter Ray Davies and his fiery lead guitarist brother Dave Davies. The program will cover classics like “You Really Got Me,” “All Day and All of the Night,” “A Well
Respected Man,” “Sunny Afternoon,” “Waterloo Sunset,” and “Lola,” as well as other highlights from their career in the 1960s and early 1970s.
