Gaining through Loss (Virtual)
April 4 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

This three-part writing forum will utilize memory, prose writing, poetry, and conversation to focus on how the truth of impermanence informs, expands, and reveals how we live through and work with loss. No prerequisite to attend part 3 of the series. Each session stands on its own.
Part 1: Moving Through Loss
Memoire via free association & prompts/discovering loss as revealed by the six sensory experiences/the relationship between emotion and the word/ retrieving & releasing our stories.
Part 2: Gaining Through Loss
Writing new endings & exploring views on grief and release via the story. Redefining and shaping a piece as “witness”.
Part 3: Waking Through Loss
Writing with a focus on how we are changed by loss, grief, and impermanence and how this expands our awareness and gratitude for life–past, present, and future.
