Immigration Issues: Past, Present, and Future (In-Person)
June 19 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Join us for a powerful and personal exploration of the Bracero Program, a U.S.–Mexico labor agreement that brought millions of Mexican workers to the United States between 1942 and 1964. Hear firsthand stories, including from the daughter of a Bracero worker, and learn about the injustices, struggles, and lasting impact this program had on families.
This community event includes a short film clip from Mi Familia (1995), followed by a discussion on immigration, family separation, and how these issues continue to shape lives today. You’ll also gain insight into important immigration terms like birthright citizenship, and how policy changes are affecting immigrant communities now.
To bring the experience full circle, enjoy a sampling of traditional foods inspired by what Bracero workers brought with them each day.
