Join certified Laughter Leader and Instructor, Lilly Stamets for a new approach to wellness and exercise – Laughter Yoga! Wondering what Laughter Yoga is? Come join us to find out. We laugh for no reason. Laughter Yoga (LY) is not about laughing at others or at jokes. LY is a combination of voluntary deep breathing, deep laughing and physical movement creating harmony between the mind and the body.
When it is done in groups, with eye contact and much playfulness between participants, intentional laughter often turns into real and contagious laughter.
Started by Dr. Madan Kataria, Laughter Yoga combines laughter exercises with yoga breathing techniques (Pranayama) which brings more oxygen to our body and brain making us feel more energetic and healthy. Ten to 15 minutes of LY exercises can reduce stress, make your immune system stronger and keep your mind positive during challenging times.
