Let’s Make Stuff with d’Arci: Into the Shadows (Virtual)
Tue January 12, 2021 @ 11:15 am - 12:15 pm
Light and Shadow play an extremely important role in art as they visually define objects rendered on a two-dimensional picture plane, and magically add depth to your drawings and paintings. Light and shadows can be difficult to study and understand because they can change depending on your location, light source(s), time of day, object of study and lighting position.
In this class with local artist d’Arci Bruno, we will shed some light on this shady subject and learn some tips and tricks to help us navigate ourselves into the THIRD dimension!
For this class you will need:
– A small table lamp or flashlight, candle, or other moveable light source (or sit next to a window)
– Pencils, eraser
– Charcoal sticks and/or Chalk pastels and/or Black and white paint
– 2 Jars of water/Rag
– Plate or tray to mix paint
– Various solid objects to place in front of the light source to draw/paint: piece of fruit, candle, soup can, ball etc.
