The Symbols of Rosh Hashanah (Virtual)
Thu September 14, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Join CLC in celebrating Rosh Hashanah! Rosh Hashanah marks the beginning of the Jewish High Holy Days and has been celebrated since the 6 Century B.C.E. Rosh Hashanah means “head of the year” in Hebrew, and the two-day holiday is considered a time to reflect and repent in anticipation of the coming year. This year Rosh Hashanah is celebrated Sept. 15 – Sept. 17, 2023. The symbols of Rosh Hashanah — shofar, apples and honey, round challah with raisins, and pomegranates — reflect these different layers of the holiday. Shofar: On Rosh Hashanah, Jews blow a shofar, a ram’s horn, to announce the new year.
Shana Tovah!
