Studies show laughter reduces the stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline and increases the body’s intake of feel-good endorphins. It improves short-term memory and helps people be more resilient. Hard to beat that. In a recent “New York Times” article, Dr. Michael Miller, a cardiologist at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore said, “Humor is not just a distraction from the grim reality of the crisis. In fact, on Valentine’s Day, I asked God for a gorgeous, young affectionate, soulful, playful guy I could fall in love with: Theo is all of that and more — my three-year old Poodle Shih Tzu puppy!
