Les Shines as Senior Power’s Tech Guru

December 16, 2020 by Deborah Finestone

Each year, our Good Neighbor Awards honor some of our most dedicated neighbors. They volunteer their time to help seniors and people with disabilities get the resources and support they need to age and thrive in their own homes and neighborhoods. We are delighted to honor Les as our 2020 Good Neighbor Honoree for Senior Power / Outer Sunset-Parkside.

Les Ong has been the tech guru for Senior Power, forever patient and generous with his time.  He set up and registered the Senior Power domain, email account, setting up online mail and creating letterhead.

Margaret Graf appreciates how well he listens to her and the good advice he gives. In addition, he makes valuable suggestions along the way. There is no way Senior Power would have advanced to this stage in its year and a half existence without him.

Les has been very active in the local merchants association, People Of Parkside/Sunset (POPS), which has helped fund Senior Power through a city-sponsored grant.  Last year, POPS won a special award from SF Merchants Association, recognizing its contributions to the city.
