Art Viewing Adventures: Several Photographs for Your Consideration (Virtual)

Robert Tat returns with another of his popular sessions on photography. During this interactive hour, he’ll show a selection of favorite photographs. Putting each image into context, Rob will explain why it is a favorite, how it fits into the history of photographic art, and something about the particular print. Then, he’ll open up the discussion for participants’ comments and reactions on each image.

Art Viewing Adventures with Rodney: MoAD Docents Discuss Portraits of and by African Americans (Virtual)

Art Viewing Adventures host Rodney Paul recently became a docent at the Museum of the African Diaspora. He’ll be joined by fellow docents to discuss historic drawings and paintings of Black subjects and by Black artists. Attendees will be invited to join the conversation as they discuss aesthetics, cultural context, and the power of art in forming social representation.

Art Viewing Adventures: San Francisco Photographers Greta and Manu Schnetzler (Virtual)

Greta and Manu Schnetzler have collaborated for more than 20 years to create intriguing images on a range of subjects that include night photography, nature, and, most recently, scenes on San Francisco Bay. They are members and organizers of the Studio Nocturne San Francisco group and have had their photographs shown nationally and internationally.
Led by Rodney Paul, local museum guide, we will look at some of their captivating images and discuss their process of portraying everyday subjects in captivating ways that lead us to see them in a new light.
