New Year’s Day Social Hour (Virtual)

Dinner Show with Violinist Jeremy Cohen (Virtual)

Just because we’re sheltering in place doesn’t mean we can’t listen to great live music. Grab your dinner and a drink and enjoy an evening with this month’s fantastic musician, violinist and educator Jeremy Cohen.

A Bay area native, Cohen’s broad-ranging career has earned him international accolades. Cohen has received multiple Grammy nominations for his work with his group Quartet San Francisco. Classically trained and a student of Itzhak Perlman and Anne Crowden, Cohen’s eclectic style reflects his respect for a wide range of styles, from Bach to Stevie Wonder and beyond. This evening’s program will reflect Cohen’s stylistic flexibility and joy of music making.

Senior Beat Conversations: Show & Tell DIY (handmade) Holiday Gifts (Virtual)

One of the ways to save money over the holiday gift-giving period is to DIY (Do It Yourself). It’s also a charming way to show that you care enough to spend time crafting something beautiful for friends, relatives, children, nieces or nephews. North Beach artist and tour guide Blandina Farley will share her holiday postcards and Senior Beat staff and friends will show some of the gift items they’ve made. We’ll also provide links to plenty of other, easy to do, homemade gift ideas.

Drama with Friends: The Plays of Maury Zeff (Virtual)

Have fun, enjoy the thrill of the stage, learn and practice new skills, release your inner thespian. Join us for readings of several short plays by playwright and director Maury Zeff. Zeff’s plays and fiction have been performed and published around the country.

Rehearsal is Monday, 10/19 from 4:30-6:30pm; performance is 7-8:30pm that night. Everyone is invited to the performance. If you want to read and are not already on the mailing list, please contact Judy at judygoddess@gmail.com by October 12th.
