About the Author

Barbara Kivowitz is a clinician, consultant, and author specializing in health care innovation and the author of Love in the Time of Chronic Illness: How to Fight the Sickness, Not Each Other. She has presented at Stanford Health Care, Massachusetts General Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Center, UCSF, and Sutter Health, and serves as a Patient Family Advisor with Sutter Health and national patient safety organizations.
